Star Types

Every star in a Dyson Sphere Program cluster belongs to a spectral type that determines its luminosity, temperature, Dyson Sphere output, and the kind of planets and resources you are likely to find around it. The table below compares all star types at a glance so you can pick where to expand next.

star-type

A-type Main Sequence

A

Description

White-blue main-sequence star, more luminous than the Sun.

Black Hole

Black Hole

Description

A black hole. Same orbital extreme matter as Neutron Star, end-game farming target.

G-type Main Sequence

G

Description

Sun-like yellow main-sequence star. Standard system with terrestrial planets.

K-type Main Sequence

K

Description

Orange main-sequence star, cooler than G-type.

M-type Main Sequence

M

Description

Red dwarf main-sequence star. Common but low-luminosity.

Red Giant

M_giant

Description

An evolved star expanded into a red giant. Strong solar wind, less suitable for Dyson Sphere construction.

Neutron Star

Neutron Star

Description

Ultra-dense stellar remnant. Drops Strange Matter and Critical Photons, end-game key resource.

White Dwarf

White Dwarf

Description

A stellar remnant. Drops Unipolar Magnet, a key resource for end-game research.
