Makeshift Bed

Makeshift Bed is unlocked by reading the email “This needs to STOP” and opening its attachment, or by interacting with or packaging a couch. In use, it acts unlike flashlights or other conventional light sources: it brightens the entire screen, gives a complete field of view, and lets objects be seen from much farther away, but it also applies a green filter and imitation scan lines.

Like the Makeshift Headlamp, it must be unequipped and charged periodically. The audible whining noise indicates a first-generation night-vision device, with the whirr coming from a high-voltage transformer that powers a photocathode.
