Basalt Rock

Basalt Rock is a cave object found scattered across the Deep Plains Caves. When mined, it drops Basalt, making it a simple source of the stone material used in building and crafting.

Basalt Rock is also available as a Landscaping item, which can be crafted at the Landscaping Station. That makes it useful not only as a natural terrain object in the Deep Plains Caves, but also as a decorative building piece for player-made areas.

In practice, it serves two roles:

• A mineable object in the Deep Plains Caves that yields Basalt.
• A craftable Landscaping item for adding basalt-themed decoration to structures and outdoor areas.

Because it appears naturally in cave generation, Basalt Rock is most relevant when exploring the Deep Plains Caves for materials. If you want the look of basalt in a built area, the Landscaping Station provides a way to place it deliberately rather than waiting to find it in the world.
