Endgame in Valheim centers on the strongest materials, highest-tier gear, and progression that opens only after the later biome bosses are cleared. At this stage, you move from silver-era equipment into the final metal tier and specialized late-game armor sets.

Black metal

Black metal is the top metal tier currently available in the game and unlocks the fourth level of equipment progression, directly after silver. It is obtained by smelting a black metal scrap in a Blast furnace using coal.

Black metal cannot be teleported, like other metals, so it must be transported manually or by ship from its source biome. It becomes available only after defeating Moder.

Endgame armor from the Ashlands

One late-game armor set is available after reaching the Ashlands. It consists of 3 pieces, and all parts are crafted at a forge.

This set can currently be upgraded only to level 3. Its defining effect is increased Eitr regeneration: wearing the full set grants a total bonus of +130% Eitr recovery.

Late-game progression

Endgame progression is defined by two major steps:

• unlocking black metal after Moder
• accessing Ashlands content and crafting specialized endgame armor

At this point, progression is less about simple defense and more about maximizing power, resource efficiency, and build specialization.
