Cascade Helm

Cascade Helm is a tradeable and plantable item that can be given to Warren Bunning in exchange for a GATE Security Key. It is also notable for its unusual plant behavior: when planted, it grows into a Nyxshade plant, which can then be harvested for Kerespheres.

Unlike other plantable items, harvesting Nyxshade does not produce any additional Cascade Helms, and Kerespheres cannot be salvaged. This makes Cascade Helm the only seed-type item that cannot be farmed, since its planting cycle does not return more of itself.

• Plant it to grow Nyxshade, then harvest the mature plant for Kerespheres.
• Do not expect to recover the original item through harvesting or salvaging.
• Its main non-farming use is trading it to Warren Bunning for a GATE Security Key.

Before version 0.9.3.13022, its description said, “It feels strangely inert for the time being.” The description was later changed to indicate that it could be planted, although that wording changed before the item was actually made plantable in version 0.10.0.
