Cicada

The Cicada is a critter that appears on the trunks of trees in Bushland and Plains during Morning and Day in Spring and Summer. It is found clinging to tree trunks rather than moving around on the ground, and its presence is easy to notice once you get close because it produces a distinctive cicada sound.

Cicadas are one of the more atmospheric critters in Dinkum, since they are tied to warm seasons and daylight hours. Because they stay on trees, they are best looked for in areas with plenty of vegetation, especially Bushland and Plains. If you are searching for one, move slowly through those biomes and check the trunks of nearby trees rather than scanning the ground.
