Cactus Shield

Cactus Shield is a trinket found in desert cave chests. It lets the player block the first attack that hits them, reducing the damage of that hit by 60% if the block succeeds.

The block uses stamina, which is shown in the buffs list. A successful block drains stamina to zero, and the shield can be used for about 2 seconds before stamina is exhausted. Stamina then regenerates from empty to full in about 3 seconds. After blocking stops, there is a short delay before regeneration begins, and if all stamina is used up this delay becomes longer and prevents stamina use again until stamina has fully recovered.

• Best used to soften a single heavy hit rather than to block repeatedly.
• Because it only affects the first hit that connects, it is most reliable when timed against predictable attacks.
• Once stamina is emptied, the shield cannot be used again until the bar has fully regenerated.
