Overview

The Elderly Wand is a magic weapon that can be found in Deep Forest Cave Chests or crafted at the Fallen Workstation. It belongs to the same general style of magic weapon as Void Missile, since it fires a projectile you can steer after launching it, but it stands out because a single shot can strike an enemy twice.

That controllable projectile makes the wand useful for threading attacks around terrain and guiding shots into moving targets. Because the projectile remains under player control, it rewards careful positioning and deliberate steering rather than simple straight-line firing. The ability to land two hits from one shot also gives it strong value when you can keep an enemy in the projectile’s path long enough for both impacts to connect.

In practice, the weapon works best when you have room to adjust your aim after firing. Enemies with predictable movement, large hitboxes, or movement constrained by walls are especially good targets, since you can steer the projectile to stay on course and take advantage of the extra hit. It also has clear utility in cramped caves and other areas where enemies may be forced into narrow paths, making it easier to line up repeated contact with the same projectile.

  • Found in Deep Forest Cave Chests.
  • Can also be crafted at the Fallen Workstation.
  • Fires a controllable projectile.
  • Unlike Void Missile, its projectile can hit an enemy twice.
  • Its effectiveness improves when you have space to steer and when targets are easy to track.

In version 0.21.21, the projectile velocity was increased from 120 to 200, making the shot travel faster than before.
