Overview

Force of Wind is a trinket dropped by Evil's Protector. It is a mobility-focused accessory that remains useful throughout the game, mainly because it gives the player a short dash in the direction they are facing. The dash covers approximately 4 tiles and has a baseline cooldown of 3 seconds, making it a simple but reliable way to reposition during movement-heavy fights and exploration.

Unlike many movement abilities in action games, Force of Wind does not grant invincibility during the dash. The player can still take damage while moving, so using it directly through a projectile or enemy does not cancel the hit. Because of that, it works best as a spacing tool rather than as an escape that can ignore incoming attacks.

  • Use the dash to cross small gaps, slip out of melee range, or quickly correct your position while fighting.
  • Since the dash direction follows the way the player is facing, it is most effective when you can turn and commit to a clear movement line.
  • Do not rely on it to pass safely through attacks; the dash provides speed and repositioning, not damage immunity.
  • Its consistent cooldown makes it helpful for general traversal and for staying mobile in long encounters.
  • Because it is available from Evil's Protector, it is an early source of extra mobility compared to later movement upgrades.

In practice, Force of Wind is strongest when paired with careful timing. It can help avoid being cornered, maintain distance from enemies, and keep combat fluid, but it still requires the player to respect hitboxes and projectile paths. That balance of utility and risk is what makes it a dependable trinket rather than a defensive reset button.
