Rope

Rope is an item used to lead domestic or tameable animals. One Rope can only be used on one animal at a time, so leading several animals requires multiple ropes. It is a basic utility item for moving livestock and other tameable creatures around without needing to force them to follow on their own.

To use Rope, place it in the hotbar and select it, or pick it up with the mouse cursor, then right-click the target animal. Each use consumes one Rope. When the animal is released, the Rope drops on the ground and is automatically picked up. Rope can be bought from the Farmer or the Exotic Merchant, and buying a live animal also includes a Rope.

Infinite Rope is the upgraded version of Rope.

• Rope stacks up to 5 as of v. 0.21.17; it originally stacked to 1.
• It was introduced in v. 0.20.1.
• Because it is consumed on use, keeping spare ropes on hand is useful if you plan to manage multiple animals.
• Since a released Rope is automatically picked up, it is easy to reuse while moving animals short distances.
