Tungsten Shield

Overview
Tungsten Shield is a shield that lets the user block the first hit that connects while blocking, reducing that attack by 70%. Like other shields, it consumes stamina when used, and the remaining stamina is shown in the buffs list.
Blocking can be maintained for about 2 seconds before stamina is exhausted, and stamina then takes about 3 seconds to fully regenerate from empty. After you stop blocking, there is a short delay before regeneration begins. If all stamina is spent, that delay becomes longer and shield blocking cannot be used again until stamina has fully recovered.
A successful block reduces the incoming damage to 30% of its original value and drops stamina to 0. This makes Tungsten Shield useful for absorbing a dangerous opening hit, especially when timing the block against a strong attack or a sudden burst of damage. Because it only blocks the first attack that lands while active, it is best used as a reactive defensive tool rather than as a way to tank repeated hits.
Its main value comes from giving the player a reliable way to soften a single heavy strike, buying time to reposition, counterattack, or retreat. Since stamina is the limiting factor, it is important not to waste the shield on light attacks when a stronger hit is expected soon after. Managing stamina carefully lets the shield remain available for the moments when it matters most.
Tungsten Shield was introduced in 0.21.28.
