Training Dummy
Overview
The Training Dummy is an object that can be placed and attacked to test the damage of the equipped weapon. It is used as a simple target for checking how effective a weapon is without having to fight a real enemy, making it useful whenever a player wants to compare gear or judge the impact of a change in equipment.
When attacked, the dummy provides immediate feedback by displaying the damage dealt, and it additionally shows the player’s DPS above the character. This makes it helpful for measuring overall weapon performance rather than only individual hit values. Since it is a placeable object, it can be set up wherever the player wants a convenient testing area.
A Training Dummy is especially useful when trying out new weapons or builds, because it lets the player see how hard they hit in a controlled setting. Repeated attacks on the dummy can also make it easier to observe the difference between slower, stronger weapons and faster weapons that deal smaller hits more frequently. For players focused on optimizing combat, the dummy serves as a straightforward tool for checking whether an equipped weapon is actually improving damage output.
In practice, the Training Dummy is not part of combat progression itself; it is a testing object. Its value comes from the information it provides rather than from any defensive or offensive function.
