Poppy

Poppy is a flower crop grown from Poppy Seeds in 7 days. It is one of the few flowers with a special relationship to bees: when planted within range of a Bee House, it produces Poppy Honey instead of regular honey, which increases the honey’s base value. Poppies can also be bought from the Traveling Cart.

Unlike all other flowers, Poppies are a universally hated gift. Penny is the only exception, and she loves them. This makes them a poor choice for most gifting purposes, despite being a flower crop.

Poppies have an equal chance of appearing in three different colors. Different colors occupy separate inventory or chest slots, and when combined with four quality levels, they can take up 12 possible spaces total. This is important if you are storing large harvests or keeping multiple varieties for crafting and tailoring.

Their growth cycle is divided into four stages:

• Stage 1: 1 day
• Stage 2: 2 days
• Stage 3: 2 days
• Stage 4: 2 days
• Harvest: total of 7 days

Poppies also have a use in tailoring and dyeing. They can be placed in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create the dyeable Pleated Skirt, and they can be used as an orange dye ingredient at the dye pots in Emily’s and Haley’s house, 2 Willow Lane.
