Yam Seeds

Yam Seeds are a type of seed. When planted, they grow into Yams.

They can be purchased at Pierre's General Store, JojaMart, and the Magic Shop Boat at the Night Market on Winter 17. They may also appear occasionally in the Traveling Cart, be produced by the Seed Maker, or be found in treasure rooms in the Skull Cavern, where five to twenty Yam Seeds can appear at once.

Because they are a seed item rather than a crop, Yam Seeds are mainly useful for starting Yam harvests rather than for direct sale or gifting. Their value comes from the crop they produce, making them most relevant to players who want Yams for cooking, bundles, quests, or general farming. The Skull Cavern treasure room source can be especially useful for accumulating a large number quickly, while the Seed Maker offers a way to turn harvested crops back into more seeds for replanting.
