Charred Warlock

Overview
Charred Warlock is a hostile Charred caster enemy found in Ashlands encounters. It is a skeletal necromancer-like combatant wrapped in the remnants of a burned robe, wielding a curved staff charged with dark energy. In battle, it is dangerous both for its ranged fire attack and for its ability to reinforce nearby enemies by summoning additional units.
The Charred Warlock has two main combat behaviors. Its fire attack begins with both hands raised before it thrusts the staff forward to launch a green fireball. The projectile deals 100 Pierce damage, travels at 12 meters per second, can remain active for up to 20 seconds, and has a spread of 2–20 degrees. On impact, it creates a 3.5-meter fire vortex that lasts 7 seconds and inflicts the Burning status, dealing 20 Blunt damage and 70 Fire damage. This attack can be used every 8 seconds while a player is within 20 meters.
Its summoning ability is what makes it especially dangerous in group fights. The Warlock raises its unarmed hand and then its staff to summon one Summoned Twitcher, a green variant of the Charred Twitcher with 50 health but otherwise the same attributes and abilities. The summon appears within 5 meters of the caster. Up to ten Summoned Twitchers can exist at once, and this limit is shared by all loaded Charred Warlocks. Even when the limit has already been reached, Charred Warlocks continue attempting to use the ability. This summon can be used every 10 seconds while a player is within 30 meters.
Charred Warlocks can also appear wearing a Charred Helmet, and there is a 50% chance for them to spawn with one. The helmet belongs to the Charred armor set and provides 60 Armor.
- Prioritize eliminating a Charred Warlock quickly, since it can both pressure players at range and add extra bodies to the fight.
- Keep moving after it begins its fire attack, as the projectile creates a lingering fire vortex on impact.
- Be prepared for summoned Twitchers to appear repeatedly if the Warlock is left alive near players.
- If it spawns with a Charred Helmet, it is still the same enemy, but its equipment makes it part of the Charred faction’s armor theme.
