Puffungi

Puffungi is an uncommon plant grown from Puffungi Seeds. It also grows naturally in the Mold Dungeon, making it one of the fungal resources associated with that biome.

Consuming Puffungi raw will moderately damage the player, so it is not safe to eat without preparation. Cooking it removes this drawback and turns it into a useful food ingredient instead, with the cooked result reducing damage taken from bosses. In cooking, Puffungi is the base ingredient of Cheese, making it valuable for players who want to prepare boss-fight support food rather than use it as a direct consumable.

Because of its raw damage penalty, Puffungi is best treated as a crafting and cooking ingredient rather than emergency food. Players who find it in the Mold Dungeon can either harvest it for later cooking or grow more from Puffungi Seeds once they have access to them.
