Purple-Winged Mantis

The Purple-Winged Mantis is a critter found in the Island Reef at night during any season. It appears on tree trunks, making it easiest to spot by checking the sides of trees after dark.

Like other reef-dwelling critters, it is a location-specific creature rather than a general island spawn, so players should search the Island Reef rather than inland areas. Since it is active at night and not limited by season, it can be collected whenever conditions are right, as long as the player visits the reef after sunset.
