Assembling machine 3

Assembling machine 3 is a high-tier crafting building used to automate production of items. It has a higher base crafting speed and more module and beacon support than earlier assembling machines, allowing very fast production rates when fully upgraded with modules and beacon effects.

With maximum energy productivity and energy consumption reductions applied, an assembling machine 3 with the maximum energy reduction (80%) consumes less than half the electrical power of an assembling machine 1. Assembling machine 3 is the only assembler that can craft faster than the player (crafting speed 1) without using any modules. The maximum achievable crafting speed for an assembling machine 3 is 11.25; this is reached by surrounding the machine with 12 beacons filled with speed modules 3. In that configuration the assembling machine itself consumes about 2.5 MW, and the whole setup requires approximately 8.3 MW to operate.

• The machine benefits strongly from speed modules and beacon effects; properly arranged beacons multiply its effective crafting speed far beyond its base value.
• Energy consumption can be reduced via modules and by using the machine’s energy consumption modifier; with an 80% reduction it uses substantially less power than the earliest assembler.
• Achieving the theoretical maximum crafting speed requires a full beacon layout (12 beacons) loaded with high-level speed modules and sufficient power capacity to feed both the beacons and the assembler.
• Plan power infrastructure accordingly: the total power draw of a maximally beaconed, module-filled setup is several megawatts, much higher than the assembler’s standalone consumption.
• Use assembling machine 3 when you need the highest throughput per crafting unit or when beacon-based speed boosts are a central part of your factory design.
