Laser turret
CategoryMilitary

Overview

- The game provides an alert type turret_fire that can be enabled, disabled or muted via the /alerts console command. Alerts are part of a larger alert system that includes entity_under_attack, entity_destroyed, no_storage and others.
- The turret can display several warning icons related to its operational state. Relevant warning symbols include an icon indicating that the turret has no ammunition, an icon for low power, and an icon for an almost empty internal energy buffer. These warnings appear in the normal warning symbol set used by buildings.
- The turret has distinct rotation and firing animations; recorded GIFs show the turret rotating and the turret firing a laser beam.
- Turret activity (such as firing) is included in the alert list and can therefore trigger programmable or console-driven notifications and custom alerts via the programmable speaker system.
Practical notes:
- Use the turret_fire alert to track when your defenses engage enemies and to integrate defensive monitoring into automated alert systems.
- Watch the turret warning icons for low power or energy-buffer conditions so you can prioritize power or battery support to defensive lines.
- The turret’s visual rotation and firing animations make it easy to spot active defense zones on a busy map.
