Overview

Fluoroketone (Hot) is a fluid used in Factorio that appears as a byproduct in certain production processes that consume Fluoroketone (Cold). It is not the primary product of those recipes, but is yielded in small quantities alongside the main outputs. Production of Fluoroketone (Hot) from those recipes is fixed and does not scale with productivity bonuses; productivity effects on the producing machines do not increase the amount of Fluoroketone (Hot) produced as a side product.

Fluoroketone (Hot) can be handled like other fluids in the game: it can flow through pipes, be stored in tanks, and be routed into and out of assembling operations that accept fluids. Fluoroketone (Hot) is distinct from Fluoroketone (Cold) and should be kept separate if a recipe or system requires one temperature state specifically.

Barrel handling and logistics for Fluoroketone (Hot) follow the general fluid barrel mechanics. Filling a barrel with a fluid requires a barrel-filling process and an available Empty barrel item; conversely, emptying a barrel returns an Empty barrel and the fluid to the target container. Empty barrel items are produced by a dedicated recipe that must be unlocked before fluids can be reliably packaged into barrels for transport. The common barrel workflow is used for Fluoroketone (Hot) when remote transport by logistics or trains is preferred over piping.

  • Fluoroketone (Hot) is produced only as a byproduct of processes consuming Fluoroketone (Cold).
  • The byproduct yield of Fluoroketone (Hot) does not increase with productivity module or beacon productivity effects.
  • Fluoroketone (Hot) is handled by the standard fluid systems (pipes, storage tanks) and can be filled into barrels using the barrel filling process if Empty barrel items are available.
  • Keep Fluoroketone (Hot) and Fluoroketone (Cold) separated where recipes require a specific temperature state.
