Honey Bee

Honey Bee is a non-hostile critter found in the Forest Biome. It has 10 health and can be seen flying around areas where Beehives or Apiaries are present, since these structures occasionally spawn Honey Bees over time.

Unlike other critters, Honey Bees cannot be damaged or killed. They can only be collected with the Net Tool, and collecting one transforms it into a Honey Bee item. Because they are tied to beekeeping structures, removing bees from Apiaries lowers the local bee population and slows down honey production.

Honey Bees also have a useful farming effect: when they land on farmland, they pollinate it and increase its growth rate. This is indicated by yellow particle effects and the soil turning darker to show that it has been fertilized. In practice, keeping Honey Bees near crops can provide a steady farming boost while still supporting honey production nearby.
