Spiked Fossil

The Spiked Fossil is a summoning item used to call forth the Swamp Guardian. It is tied to the Swamp Cave and is not a general-use item from anywhere in the world. Because of this, it functions more like a cave-specific progression tool than a normal material or loot drop.

It can be found in a few different ways inside Swamp Caves. Hostile mobs in the swamp caves have a 1% chance to drop it, and it can also appear in chests found there. Since it is both rare and location-locked, exploring the caves thoroughly is the main way to obtain it consistently.
