Overview

The Angler is a settler found in Villages. He sells Bait and can be recruited for Gold along with several fish types. Once he has moved into a settlement, he can also be sent on fishing trips, making him the only settler who performs fishing work.

The Angler buys the following fish from players: Gobfish, Halffish, Furfish, Icefish, Swampfish, Rockfish, and Terrorfish. Most of these sell for 16–25 coins each, while Terrorfish sells for 30–45 coins. He is always available to buy the listed fish.

After being sent on a fishing trip, the Angler leaves the settlement for a short time and returns with the chosen fish. This makes him useful for turning fish into a renewable settlement task rather than handling every catch manually. Because he is also able to do hauling, crafting, forestry, and farming, he can contribute to daily settlement work even when he is not fishing.

  • Recruit him from a Village if you want a settler who specializes in fishing.
  • Use fishing trips to obtain specific fish without spending your own time on them.
  • He is the only settler that can perform fishing work, so his role is unique among settlers.
  • His willingness to buy several common fish makes him a convenient way to offload extra catches and earn coins.
  • Since he can also help with hauling, crafting, forestry, and farming, he remains useful even in settlements that do not need constant fishing support.

Because the Angler interacts with both fish trading and settlement work, he is a practical early utility settler for players who want a source of bait, a buyer for surplus fish, and a reliable fishing specialist in one package.
