Workstation

Overview
The Workstation is the most basic Crafting Station in Necesse. It is used to craft early-game items as well as other crafting stations, making it one of the first progression structures a player relies on after starting a world. Since the 0.28.0 rework, it takes up a 2x1 space.
Like other crafting stations, the Workstation can use materials stored in nearby containers when the Use nearby inventories checkmark is enabled. If this option is active, crafting pulls ingredients from containers within a maximum range of 9 tiles in any direction. This makes it easier to set up a compact workshop, since nearby storage can feed the station without manually moving items into the player inventory first.
- The Workstation is a basic entry-level crafting station.
- It supports crafting early-game items and other crafting stations.
- It occupies a 2x1 area.
- With Use nearby inventories enabled, it can access materials from nearby Containers.
- Valid container placement extends to within ±9 tiles of the station.
In practice, the Workstation is best placed close to your main storage area so that common materials remain within range. Because it is also used to craft other stations, it serves as a central part of an early base layout and often remains useful as part of a larger crafting room even after more advanced stations become available.
