Sugar

Sugar is a cooking ingredient used in many recipes. It can be purchased year-round from Stone's General Store or from JojaMart, and it may also appear in Supply Crates on the Beach Farm after the Farmhouse has been upgraded at least once.

Sugar can also be made at a Mill by placing in a Beet. One Beet produces three Sugar, which is collected in the box beside the Mill the following morning. Because the output is tripled, it can be a useful way to convert surplus Beets into a more convenient cooking supply.

Sugar is also used at the Sewing Machine to create the Sugar Shirt.

• Sugar made from regular or silver-quality Beets is profitable, since the sale value of three Sugar is higher than the sale value of one Beet of those qualities, even with the Tiller profession.
• This is still much less profitable than turning Beets into pickles with a Preserves Jar.
