Stone

A common material with many uses in crafting and building.
Overview
Stone is a basic resource obtained mainly by mining rocks with a pickaxe. Normal rocks yield 1 to 3 Stone, while boulders yield 10. It can also be found in Fishing Treasure Chests, dug up from Artifact Spots, produced by a Stonefish Fish Pond at population 9, fished from the fountain left of the Community Center, or gifted by a max-friendship pet dog. Stone Golems and Gray Slimes also drop Stone.
Stone is sold by Robin at the Carpenter's Shop, and she also offers it at the Desert Festival in exchange for a Calico Egg. Fifty Stone can be received as a gift from Robin at the Feast of the Winter Star. The price of Stone at the Carpenter's Shop increases starting in Year 2, but the gold received from selling Stone through the Shipping Bin or to Robin does not change.
It is a widely used material for crafting, construction, and a few other systems. Stone is required for several buildings and building upgrades purchased at the Carpenter's Shop, and it is also needed to buy the Junimo Hut from the Wizard's Tower. The Desert Trader will exchange 5 Stone for 1 Fiber on Tuesdays.

Robin may request 1,000 Stone in one week as part of the special order "Robin's Resource Rush." If the player completes it on time, she mails the recipe for Stone Chest, and the player keeps any Stone mined for the order.
A simple way to collect large amounts of Stone is to repeatedly enter and leave the first level of the Mines and break only boulders and silver rocks. This makes it easy to gather Stone quickly without fully clearing the floor.
