Soulstone - Nightmare

Material required to summon Nightmare difficulty bosses.
Overview
Soulstone - Nightmare is a Soul Stone used in Act progression and special boss content. It is part of the game’s boss-challenge economy: each Act finale requires a Soul Stone to attempt the boss, and Soul Stones also unlock optional special boss encounters. Because only a successful clear consumes the stone, failed attempts are safe and do not cost the item.
In practice, Soulstone - Nightmare should be treated as a progression resource rather than something to spend casually. If you obtain extra stones before you are ready to use them, store them in Stash for later Acts instead of hoarding them on your character out of fear. This is especially useful for players moving through the early game, where progress can be slowed by Act structure and tier requirements. Each Act contains Normal, Hard, and higher tiers, and skipping Normal across an Act creates hard walls, so Soul Stones fit into a wider progression path rather than replacing it.
The item is most valuable when you can repeatedly challenge bosses and take advantage of boss loops, which are a major source of high-value loot in the mid-game. Since failed special attempts do not consume the stone, you can use them to learn encounters and test your setup without wasting resources. This makes Soulstone - Nightmare useful both for advancing the main Act finale and for optional encounters that reward preparation.
- Use a Soul Stone when you are ready to challenge an Act boss; the stone is only spent on a successful clear.
- Do not worry about failed attempts on special boss encounters, since they do not remove the stone until you win.
- Store spare stones in Stash if you do not plan to enter the next boss fight immediately.
- Plan around Act tier progression, since skipping Normal tiers can block advancement later.
- Repeat boss content when possible, as it is a strong mid-game source of valuable loot.
