Security Pistol

The Security Pistol is a ranged sidearm used by GATE Security, and one of the earliest firearms a player can acquire. It can drop from Grunts that wield pistols and can also be looted from GATE Security Crates. Beyond random acquisition, it appears in several fixed locations across the game world, making it a reliable weapon to look for when exploring security-related areas.

Known fixed spawns include the Security Sector, where it can be found in a large upstairs room with toxic spillage and destroyed robots, hidden beneath a desk and on top of a computer tower in the same area, on a bench in the gym, and as a pair in the firing range near the gym. In the Residence Sector, two can be found in the building where Moira Shepherd is located: one near her and another under a bed on the first floor. In the Office Sector, it appears on Level 2 in the Security Office firing range. Another spawn exists in Cascade Laboratories at Lens Epicentre, next to a security guard corpse.

Because of its wide availability at set locations, the Security Pistol is useful both as a backup weapon and as a consistent source of early ammunition-using firepower. It rewards careful exploration of security zones and interiors, especially rooms with desks, benches, and training facilities. Practical acquisition notes:

• Farm pistol-wielding Grunts for a chance to obtain one.
• Check GATE Security Crates whenever they are available.
• Search the Security Sector and its gym/firing range thoroughly, since multiple copies can appear there.
• Visit the Residence Sector building tied to Moira Shepherd for two more guaranteed spawns.
• Do not overlook the Office Sector firing range on Level 2 or the Lens Epicentre corpse spawn in Cascade Laboratories.

The weapon’s model is based on the Glock 17. Its reload animation also reflects a mechanical detail of the real firearm, though the game’s version does not always behave exactly like a real pistol would.
