Concrete from molten iron
Overview

Placement and recovery follow the standard pavement interaction model. When the concrete item is held, the player can place it on ground tiles; while holding any item the player can use the removal action to pick up placed concrete and return it to their inventory. The placement tool offers an adjustable area, allowing the player to set the size of the patch being laid so that multiple contiguous tiles can be created or cleared in one operation.
Concrete from molten iron will automatically remove whatever pavement type currently occupies a tile when it is placed over that tile. This means replacing other pavement variants does not require a separate demolition step: placing the concrete directly converts the tile to the new pavement type and reclaims any remnants of the previous surface according to the game's pavement mechanics.
- The concrete produced by this recipe is placed directly from the player’s cursor and can be reclaimed into the inventory using the removal action while holding any item.
- Placement supports an adjustable area setting so patches of pavement can be laid or overwritten in bulk.
- Placing this concrete over other pavement types automatically removes the prior pavement and converts the tile to concrete.
- Interaction and placement behavior follow the same conventions as other pavement items in the game, enabling seamless replacement and cleanup during base construction and roadworks.
