Any fish that counts as a common fish can be used for this item. The available common fish are Carp, Cod, Herring, Mackerel, Salmon, Trout, and Tuna. Salmon is the most widely available, since it can be found in every listed biome and fishing spot type, while the others are more restricted.

• Carp can be caught in Desert, Forest, Snow, and Swamp inland and sea waters.
• Cod appears only in Snow sea waters.
• Herring appears only in Forest sea waters.
• Mackerel appears in Desert sea waters, Forest sea waters, and Swamp cave waters.
• Salmon appears in all listed inland, sea, and cave waters across Desert, Forest, Snow, and Swamp.
• Trout appears in Desert, Forest, Snow, and sea waters, but not in the listed cave or swamp waters.
• Tuna appears in Desert sea waters and Swamp sea waters.

Because it is an ingredient item, Common Fish is mainly useful as cooking material rather than for direct use.
