Overview

Potions are consumable items used for recovery, temporary buffs, and special effects. In practice they fall into four broad groups: health potions, mana potions, buff potions, and special potions. Health and mana potions are straightforward restoration items, while buff potions apply temporary effects to the player and are often saved for harder encounters such as bosses.

Health potions restore health when used, and mana potions restore mana when used. Both types share a 30 second cooldown before another potion can be used, so they cannot be chained repeatedly in rapid succession. This cooldown makes potion timing important during extended fights and dungeon exploration.

Buff potions are used to grant various beneficial effects to the player. Because they can be costly to consume, they are best used when the extra advantage matters most, especially in difficult battles. They are a key part of preparing for tougher content, since their effects can supplement gear, healing, and mana management.

Special potions are different from the others because they are not used on the player at all. Instead, they are used on settlers. As of version 0.31, the only special potion is the Revival Potion.

  • Health potions: restore health, 30 second cooldown
  • Mana potions: restore mana, 30 second cooldown
  • Buff potions: grant temporary player buffs, useful in hard fights
  • Special potions: used on settlers rather than the player; currently includes the Revival Potion
