Bloated Spider

Bloated Spider is a spider-type enemy found in Spider Castle Incursions and can also be released from Spider Eggs. It is dangerous less for its direct attacks than for what happens when it dies: it explodes on death and deals heavy damage to anything nearby.

Because of that death explosion, Bloated Spiders are best handled with caution rather than rushed down in close quarters. Fighting them in cramped corridors or near other enemies can quickly turn a routine encounter into a chain of damage. If several are present, spacing them out before finishing them off is especially important so that one explosion does not catch the player or other threats at the same time.

A few practical points make them easier to deal with:

• Keep distance when possible. Ranged attacks let you kill them without standing inside the blast radius.
• Avoid finishing one off while surrounded. The explosion can punish melee combat and crowded fights.
• Fight in open space if you have the choice. More room makes it easier to step away before the death explosion triggers.
• Be careful around Spider Eggs, since they can release Bloated Spiders and create an immediate close-range threat.
• If one is already close, reposition first and then secure the kill from outside the dangerous area.

In Spider Castle Incursions, Bloated Spiders add pressure by forcing the player to manage timing and positioning as much as raw damage. Their explosion makes them a threat even after their health is nearly gone, so they should be treated as hazardous targets rather than simple fodder. The safest approach is to separate them from the player and from other enemies, then defeat them with enough space to avoid the blast.
