Banner Stand

The Banner Stand is an object used to place banners on top of it and project their buff to nearby players without requiring anyone to hold the banner. It is also a settlement-related item: it is obtained as a quest reward from the Elder for defeating the Cryo Queen, and after that it can be purchased from the Elder.

The Banner Stand has an effect radius of 22 tiles from its center, forming a tiled circle. Each different banner can apply its buff at the same time, but multiple banners of the same type do not stack. Because of this, Banner Stands are especially effective when you want to cover a large area with several distinct banner effects.

They are very useful in boss fights, where placing them in the center of the arena lets the whole combat area benefit from the buffs. This works even in the Void Wizard and Fallen Wizard arenas, which do not allow most other placeable objects. Banner effects also apply to settlers, so placing Banner Stands with the Banner of Speed in busy parts of a settlement increases settler movement speed and helps them finish tasks faster.

If a Banner Stand and its banner are placed inside an Incursion, they are returned to the player when the Incursion is completed, as long as they have not already been picked back up.
