Deep Snow Stone Trap
Overview
Deep Snow Stone trap is a trap object found in the Deep Snow Caves. It is part of the cave’s environmental defenses and can be collected as an item, then placed elsewhere as part of a wired trap setup.
Like other wired objects, it can be connected using Wiring tools and items. Once powered, it activates in two quick bursts. Each burst shoots flame up to 8 tiles, and the flames inflict the On fire debuff on anything they hit. The second burst follows 10 ticks, or 0.5 seconds, after the first, making the trap especially dangerous in narrow corridors where targets are likely to remain in range for both shots.
After firing, the trap has a cooldown of 20 ticks, which is 1 second, before it can activate again. This relatively short delay makes it suitable for repeated defense in choke points, especially when combined with other hazards or crowd-control traps that keep enemies stationary long enough to be hit by both flame bursts.
- Best used in corridors, entrances, and other tight paths where enemies cannot easily dodge.
- Because the flame travels up to 8 tiles, it can cover a useful stretch of hallway without requiring perfect placement.
- The On fire debuff adds extra pressure beyond the initial hit, so it is effective against enemies that linger near the trigger area.
- The 0.5-second delay between bursts means targets that survive the first hit may still be caught by the second if they remain in the line of fire.
- The 1-second cooldown allows frequent reactivation, making the trap more reliable in sustained fights than single-use defenses.
In practice, Deep Snow Stone trap is most valuable when integrated into a larger wired defense line rather than used alone. It performs best when enemies are funneled into a predictable route, allowing both flame bursts to land consistently.
