The Wayseeker (Enemy)

The Wayseeker is a major enemy encounter fought on the island after activating the ritual stone. The battle is a multi-phase boss fight that escalates from repeated projectile pressure into shielded phases with summoned enemies, tentacles, and high-damage laser attacks. It appears to reposition itself during the fight, forcing the player to keep track of its movement while dealing damage whenever openings appear.

In the opening phase, The Wayseeker attacks with constant Mystagogue-like fireballs launched from its floating claws. These shots are straightforward to avoid by simply moving aside, and ranged attacks are the safest way to deal damage. Thrown weapons and long-range melee, including the Laser Katana, are also effective. The creature periodically dives into the water and resurfaces at a different location, which can place it behind the church, behind the topside boathouse, in the middle of the island against the dock, or near the lighthouse.

Once enough damage is dealt, the fight shifts into a more dangerous second phase. The Wayseeker begins spawning Exor enemies and another fireball claw, and it also raises a shield that must be reduced before significant damage can be dealt again. During this phase it summons damaging melee tentacles; destroying the tentacles weakens the shield. It also occasionally charges a highly damaging laser attack, which is best avoided by taking cover behind buildings.

The final phase increases the pace of the same attack pattern. The Wayseeker spawns more Exor enemies, creates another fireball claw, and speeds up both shield generation and laser charging, leaving less room to punish it. The fight is best handled by staying mobile, using cover aggressively, and striking during the brief windows when the creature is vulnerable.

Useful preparation and combat notes:

• Bring the strongest weapons available, since the fight is long and durability or charge will likely become an issue.
• Bring a charged Laser Collector or two to recharge high-DPS weapons during the battle.
• Use ranged damage whenever possible; it is the most reliable way to wear The Wayseeker down.
• Watch for the large green spheres emitted by the Mystagogue of the Unlost present on the island, which telegraph a stronger healing effect and can restore you during the fight.
• Jotun of the Unlost and Chieftain of the Unlost can provide additional firepower by shooting enemies and tentacles when they are close enough.
• If Kylie has been inserted into her robot body, she can assist by firing explosive mortars and rockets at enemies and tentacles.
