Bigfoot

Bigfoot is a hostile megaspecimen encountered in Abiotic Factor, classified by GATE as IS-0255, with the designation Crucis (AG/CA). It resembles the Yeti, but has brown fur, stands more upright, and fights with improvised clubs made from broken Corrupted Robots. Despite its rough appearance, it is a dangerous close-range enemy that can strike with explosive ferocity and should not be underestimated.

Its containment notes emphasize that Bigfoot is highly capable of turning nearby objects into tools or escape implements, so anything it can repurpose must be kept away from it. Cleaning equipment, dishes, wires, screws, and metallic objects are all specifically mentioned as things that can be used to make tools or rudimentary escape tools. Direct study is also made more dangerous by the creature’s reaction to cameras and recording devices, which can provoke violent agitation.

In combat, Bigfoot is notably tough and deceptively fast, but it has a major weakness to fire, plasma, and holy damage. These effects cause it to panic and stop attacking, making incendiary and plasma weapons especially effective. Weapons such as the Flamethrower or Plasmois Rifle can dispatch it quickly when used properly, and any strategy that keeps it under continuous burning or plasma pressure will dramatically reduce the threat it poses.

It is also notable for its vocal effects, which use down-pitched monkey sounds. Its agitation around photography and recording is treated as a deliberate reference to real-world Bigfoot folklore, and the creature’s blurry appearance in photos is given an in-universe explanation through the fur’s reflective micro-facets, which scatter light at awkward angles.
