Armored Exor

DESIGNATION: Crucis (AG/IN)
CONTAINMENT PROTOCOL: All IS-0184C containment sites must employ Grade 5 impact shielding, heavy blast dampening and electrical grounding rated to 2MW, with full acoustic baffling and an approved one-way accession portal.
However, the combination of heavy chitnous armor, bioelectrical tracking projectiles and ultrasonic vocalizations has, in practice, meant that anything less than permanent sedation of IS-0184C carries considerable risk of injury or death to assigned researchers.
The subject is the most aggressive and destructive known variant of IS-0184A and IS-0184B, and provides further evidence for a growing weight of GATE research that indicates the intervention of an external agent in the evoution of this lifeform.
Overview
Armored Exor is a hostile Exor variant found in the far end of the Hydroplant, near the bridge and within the Waterfall Apartments. It is one of the most dangerous members of the species, combining the usual Exor mobility with heavier armor, stronger attacks, and a wider combat toolkit. In the GATE compendium, it is designated IS-0184-C and described as the most aggressive and destructive known variant of the Exor line.
Like other Exors, Armored Exor stays in motion during combat and tries to sidestep incoming attacks rather than standing still. Unlike its lesser variants, it can use both Exor Monk-style teleportation and Exor quill-based ranged attacks at the same time, and it can also produce biological grenades. Its attacks include:
- Quill Strafe: runs around or after targets while firing multiple quill projectiles; may inflict Bleeding and must be reloaded.
- Leaping Swipe: lunges into melee range and strikes; may inflict Bleeding.
- Claws: performs a three-hit melee sequence; may inflict Bleeding.
- Warcry: roars and briefly impairs the player’s vision.
- Grenade: expels a blob from its mouth that is thrown and then explodes.
Armored Exor retains the basic Exor body shape and colors, but is much more physically developed than earlier specimens. It is taller, has greater muscle mass, and carries more body quills. Its armor has spread across its arms and thighs in deep purple plates, while its internal bioluminescence glows bright red across more of the body. The compendium entry also notes that its chitinous armor, bioelectrical tracking projectiles, and ultrasonic vocalizations make it extremely hazardous to researchers.
When defeated, Armored Exor can drop:
The compendium entry is unlocked by killing 500 Exor Monks after obtaining all other compendium entries.
In combat, Armored Exor is far more dangerous than standard Exors, with roughly double the durability and movement capability. It is vulnerable to acidic and electrical weapons, but is highly resistant to firearms. Because it frequently keeps moving and can reload its quill attack during the fight, players should avoid relying on slow or inaccurate weapons. Its periods of quill reloading create brief openings for counterattacks or recovery, and maintaining pressure during those moments is the safest way to win the fight.
