Overview

The Crystal Golem is a monster that appears only during the Crystal Hollow Incursion, or when summoned by the Crystal Dragon. It is a ranged crystal-based enemy that repeatedly tracks a player, charges up, and then fires a laser attack. The charging process cannot be interrupted unless the golem is killed.

Its attack is telegraphed before firing: it locks onto the player’s current location, then releases a laser after about half a second. Because the beam does not pass through walls and the aiming phase is clearly visible, the Crystal Golem is fairly easy to avoid once its behavior is understood.

  • The safest way to deal with a Crystal Golem is to keep moving during the brief charge-up window.
  • Solid walls completely block its laser, so using cover is an effective defense.
  • Since the golem keeps aiming at players, staying mobile can cause the shot to miss even if you are the target.
  • If multiple players are present, the golem may keep shifting its aim between them, so spacing out can make its attacks less predictable.
  • Once it starts charging, the attack will proceed unless the monster dies, so interrupting the shot through damage is only possible by killing it before the laser fires.

In practice, the Crystal Golem is more of a positional threat than a fast one. Its damage pattern rewards awareness and movement rather than raw defense alone, and terrain is one of the strongest counters against it.
