Giant Cave Spider

Overview
The Giant Cave Spider is a hostile spider enemy that spawns in Spider Nests found in Forest Caves. It is a cave-specific threat, so encountering it usually means exploring the darker underground forest regions where nests generate.
Its main danger comes from controlling space rather than raw melee pressure. The Giant Cave Spider can use poison spit, firing a green projectile that leaves a green mark on the floor when it lands. The mark may indicate a poison effect, although the exact behavior is not fully clear from available information. It can also create webs that slow the player while they remain inside them, making it easier for the spider and other nearby enemies to keep pressure on a target.
- Watch the ground after a spit attack and avoid standing on the green mark, since it marks the impact point of the projectile.
- Webs are especially dangerous in narrow cave corridors, where they can reduce your ability to reposition.
- Fighting it at range helps limit the time spent inside webbed areas and makes dodging the spit easier.
- When exploring Forest Caves, expect Spider Nests to be the main source of these enemies, so clearing nests carefully reduces repeated ambushes.
Because the Giant Cave Spider relies on area denial, movement is the key to handling it. Staying mobile and avoiding clustered terrain makes both of its special attacks much less threatening.
