Giant Swamp Slime

Giant Swamp Slime is a hostile monster found in Deep Swamp Caves. It is one of the swamp cave enemies encountered deeper in that biome, and it is built around closing distance quickly rather than fighting from range. Its behavior makes it most dangerous when there is room for it to leap directly onto the player.

In combat, Giant Swamp Slime jumps toward the player, using its movement to pressure targets and keep them from staying safely out of reach. It can also charge a thrust, which lets it leap a much farther distance toward the player. That charged jump gives it a stronger way to catch a fleeing target or to cross a larger gap in one attack.

When dealing with Giant Swamp Slime, spacing matters most. Its normal jumps are already designed to put it on top of the player, and the charged version can extend that threat over a much longer distance. Fighting it in a confined cave passage can make its movement more predictable, but it also gives it fewer obstacles to work around. In open spaces, the longer charged leap becomes especially important to watch for.

• Stay alert for the start of its charged thrust, since this is the attack that lets it cover the greatest distance.
• Keep moving so its jumps do not land cleanly on your position.
• Treat it as a close-range threat rather than a slow or stationary enemy.
