Tin Ore

Unrefined tin. Needs to be refined in a smelter.
Overview
Tin ore is a metal ore found in the Black Forest biome, where it appears in small deposits along rivers and coastlines. It is mined with any pickaxe, and like other metal ores and bars it cannot be teleported, so it must be transported manually or by boat.
Once collected, Tin ore is processed in a Smelter with Coal as fuel to produce Tin. That Tin is then used at a Forge together with Copper to make Bronze, making Tin ore one of the early resources needed to enter the game’s bronze age.
- Tin deposits are found near water in the Black Forest, especially along shorelines and riverbanks.
- A pickaxe is required to harvest it.
- A troll can accidentally help mine it if its club or log attack strikes the deposit instead of the player.
- Tin ore cannot be carried through portals.
- Smelting requires Coal in a Smelter.
- Tin combines with Copper in a Forge to create Bronze.
Because deposits are typically close to water, it is often efficient to gather Tin ore while exploring the edge of the Black Forest by coast or river. This also makes it practical to transport the ore by ship back to a base with a Smelter and Forge.
