Hard Antler

Hard antler is a crafting material dropped by Eikthyr, the first boss. Defeating Eikthyr always grants 3 Hard antlers, making this one of the earliest progression materials in Valheim.

Its main use is to craft the Antler Pickaxe at a Workbench. One Hard antler is required for the recipe, and the resulting pickaxe is the first mining tool that lets players harvest the game’s initial ore deposits. It is essential for progressing into metalworking, especially for collecting Copper Ore and Tin Ore.

Because Hard antlers are tied directly to Eikthyr, they cannot be reliably obtained until the boss is defeated. As a result, the material serves as a short but important gate between the early survival phase and the first mining and smelting stage of the game.
