Overview

The Biochamber is a late-game crafting structure introduced with Gleba content. It is closely tied to biological production chains and has a wide recipe set, including many recipes that are exclusive to the Biochamber, Gleba, or both. It also serves as the crafting machine for several spoilage-resistant products and for producing Nutrients, which are required both as fuel for the Biochamber and as an ingredient in other biological recipes.

The Biochamber itself is crafted from iron plate, electronic circuit, Nutrients, Pentapod egg, and landfill. Its recipe list makes it one of the most specialized machines in the game, bridging agriculture, bio-processing, and some conventional chemistry. Among its most important uses are processing Yumako and Jellynut into their secondary products, refining Bioflux-based materials, and handling Pentapod egg production and agricultural science pack crafting on Gleba.

A few practical points follow from its recipe pool:

  • It can process Yumako into Yumako seed and Yumako mash, and Jellynut into Jellynut seed and Jelly.
  • It crafts Bioflux from Yumako mash and Jelly.
  • It produces Pentapod eggs and agricultural science packs on Gleba.
  • It can convert Jelly into lubricant, Bioflux and Jelly into rocket fuel, and Bioflux with Yumako mash into plastic bar.
  • It can turn spoilage plus Bioflux into sulfur, or spoilage alone into carbon.
  • It can produce Nutrients from Yumako mash, Bioflux, spoilage, fish, or biter eggs.
  • It supports bacterial chains, including Iron bacteria and Copper bacteria production and their cultivation recipes.
  • It can also breed fish from raw fish, Nutrients, and water, though that recipe is available from the chemical plant as well.

Some recipes are explicitly stable and unaffected by spoilage, making the Biochamber useful for managing biological products that would otherwise degrade. It also supports a few non-biological processes such as cracking heavy oil to light oil and light oil to petroleum gas, and processing wood into tree seeds on Nauvis.
