Destroyer capsule

Overview
A
Because follower robots carry inertia, players can use movement to position a pack of Destroyers into enemy bases without entering hostile firing range themselves. Accelerating toward an enemy base or moving in a curved path will allow the robot group to be “swung” forward so the robots make contact with targets while the player remains farther back. Visual indicators in the game show Destroyers being spawned and following the player.
The maximum number of active Destroyer robots is capped by the follower robot count research. While follower robots are active, the current number and types of robots in use are visible in an icon to the right of the quick-bar; hovering the icon displays the breakdown by type and the currently researched maximum.
- Use vehicle speed or exoskeleton boosts to increase the reach of the robot “swing” so Destroyers enter enemy areas while you stay safer behind.
- Launching distractor capsules into an enemy base before sending Destroyers reduces incoming fire on the player by drawing enemy attention away from you.
- Monitor the follower robot UI icon to confirm how many Destroyers are active and whether you have reached the researched cap for follower robots.
- Keep in mind that follower behavior and inertia can make precise control of individual Destroyers difficult; plan movement paths that push groups where you want them rather than relying on fine formation control.
The item functions as a convenient, mobile means of producing offensive robots that operate in concert with player movement and available follower robot capacity.
