Fast transport belt

Overview

Practical notes and properties:
- Max. throughput: 30 items per game-second. This figure represents the theoretical maximum rate at which items can be moved along a single lane of the belt under ideal conditions.
- Speed: 3.75 tiles per game-second. This is the belt movement speed used in physics calculations for travel time and spacing.
- Max. density: 8 items per tile. This density limit describes how many items can occupy a single tile of belt when items are packed as closely as the game permits.
- Required technology: Logistics 2 research is required to unlock the Fast transport belt.
Because the listed throughput, speed, and density are the core parameters controlling how the belt performs, these values determine how the belt integrates with other transport infrastructure. When planning expansions or replacing older belts, use the speed and throughput numbers to match belt sections and to size feeders, splitters, and buffers so they do not become bottlenecks. For exact behavior in complex layouts (merging lanes, deadlocks, stacking at splitters, or interactions with underground belts and entities), refer to the Physics of Transport Belts documentation and test in-game setups.
