Overview

Liquid Container is a Liquid Transport building introduced in Update 7.0 (Build 132). It functions as a high-capacity storage tank for liquids and, like a liquid Router, passively outputs its stored liquid to adjacent tiles in all directions. It is intended to centralize and buffer liquid flow in complex piping networks where both storage and multi-directional distribution are required.

Placement and terrain rules are stricter than ordinary ground buildings when sited on certain water or hazardous-floor tiles. When placed on Deep Water terrain, the Liquid Container requires at least one of the following conditions to be met: the interior (the tile the block occupies) must contain at least one shallow-water tile or a non-empty, non-liquid tile; or at least one of the four orthogonal neighbor tiles (excluding corners) must be a shallow-water tile or a non-empty, non-liquid tile. The same pair of conditions applies when the block is placed on Slag, Tar, Arkycite, or Cryofluid floor tiles.

Practical notes and usage tips:

  • Use Liquid Container to buffer large liquid flows and prevent pressure loss in long pipelines; its multi-directional output makes it useful as a distribution hub.
  • Place Containers adjacent to pumps, ducts, or Routers to form reliable distribution meshes; they behave like Routers in how they push liquids out.
  • Observe the terrain constraints when building on Deep Water or hazardous liquid floors: ensure at least one allowable neighboring or interior tile as described above or the building cannot be placed.
  • Multiple Containers can be chained to create large reservoirs; combine with pumps to force transfer when passive routing is insufficient.
  • Because it passively outputs in all directions, position Containers to avoid unintentionally feeding nearby consumer structures or wasting transport capacity.
