The Shadow Beam is a magic weapon that is dropped by the Reaper or crafted at the Fallen Workstation. It functions as a long-range alternative to the Void Staff, trading on much higher range and damage. As a result, it is a powerful option for magic users once the Reaper becomes available as a source of loot or crafting progression.

Its high reach makes it especially effective in fights where maintaining distance is important. It is noted as being particularly strong against Pest Warden and Sage and Grit, where its damage and range let the user pressure bosses safely while staying mobile. It is also effective against the Fallen Wizard, especially when combined with Shadow Bolt, which complements its damage output during that fight.
