Carbon Gas

Carbon Gas is a gaseous resource associated with space cargo logistics. It is one of the materials represented in the game’s resource preview artwork, where it is shown enclosed in coal.

Gas Cargo Canisters are the relevant transport module for gas resources in space missions. Each mission returns 1000 kg of gas, and the exact composition depends on the destination. The canister must be unloaded through a connected Gas Pipe. Destinations with gas resources include the Organic Mass, which yields Polluted Oxygen, and the Gas Giant, which yields Natural Gas and Hydrogen; other destinations do not provide gas resources.

Because the return is tied to destination composition rather than to the rocket itself, Carbon Gas should be treated as part of the broader space resource system rather than as a standalone renewable source. Repeated trips to the same asteroid can deplete resources faster than they regenerate, so alternating destinations is useful when planning sustained collection routes.
