Liquid Oxygen

Overview
Liquid Oxygen is the liquid state of Oxygen and one of the cryogenic fluids found in the game’s liquid list. It freezes into Solid Oxygen at -218.79 °C and boils back into Oxygen at -182.96 °C. In terms of density, it sits far above gas Oxygen and is much lighter than most industrial liquids, making it a specialized low-temperature fluid rather than a general-purpose transport medium.
It can be harvested on rocket missions to renewable space POIs, specifically in Glimmering Asteroid Fields, at a rate of 60–180 kg per cycle. That makes it a renewable but exploration-gated resource rather than something commonly found in normal base biomes.
- Because it is a liquid state of Oxygen, it must be kept below its vaporization point or it will return to gas.
- Its extremely low temperatures place it in the same general handling category as other cryogenic liquids, so insulated storage and careful heat management are important when dealing with it.
- As a resource from space POIs, it is most relevant in late-game logistics and rocket-based supply chains rather than early colony construction.
