Sentry Shield

The Sentry Shield is a rare shield obtained from The Sunken Sea. It is notable for its special block effect: when it successfully blocks an attack, it has a chance to spawn three energy shockwave projectiles from the player, functioning similarly to the attack used by the Core Sentry. Each projectile deals damage equal to the amount that was blocked, making the shield both defensive and offensively rewarding when timed well.

Because its bonus damage scales directly from the blocked hit, the Sentry Shield is strongest against enemies that land heavy attacks. A successful block can turn a dangerous strike into a damaging counterattack, letting the player punish enemies while maintaining pressure. This makes it especially valuable for shield-focused builds and for players who rely on active blocking rather than simply using a shield as a passive safety net.

It is also one of the strongest shields available from The Sunken Sea without defeating any bosses beyond the Great Wall, giving it a clear progression niche. Players entering the area can use it as an upgrade path from earlier shields while they continue exploring the biome and preparing for later boss encounters.
